Chapter one, the mistake.

Given two choices,

The wrong decision is made,

Everything lost to fate.

Chapter two, the disappointment.

Repercussions made,

Others lose faith,

Heads hung in shame.

Chapter three, the distrust.

Belief gone,

Eyes cast down,

Turned backs all around.

Chapter four, the regret.

Time alone,

Wishing to undo the past,

Hoping for one last chance.

Chapter five, the redemption.

Happy ending to a tragic tale,

All is forgiven,

Until another mistake is made.

An infinite cycle of pain, sorrow, and pride.

No escape

Simply one story

In a land where sequels come to play.

A series of books with the same plot,

Same protagonist,

Same ending.

An endless count of tales,

Until the author gives up

On the series of books

We call life.
