Hiding

You can never change who you are,
Only hide it for a time.
For Mother Nature spoke when you were created,
And her word can't be marred.
Society is the one place where Ma Nature seems wrong,
As beauty shifts through time,
And all one can hope is to play along.
You can never change who you are,
Only create a façade.
But you can make it seem so real,
That the old you becomes a mirage.
We change ourselves to fit the bill,
But it corrupts our perceptions,
Our sanity,
Our will.
You can never change who you are,
Only make everyone think you've change.
But beware for if you go too far,
Your entire life can be rearranged.
This world is a trap
Where they force you to conform,
And then expose you for faking the norm.
