What is beauty?

The luck of being born with a collection of symmetrical pieces?

The whiteness fo a smile?

The brightness of eyes?

What is beauty?

The ability to see the world through rose-coloured glasses?

The softness of a voice?

The refusal to cry?

What is beauty?

A measurable quality?

A necessary evil?

A complicated lie?

What is beauty,

But a subjective list of qualities

That we all must abide by

Just so others will give us a try?

What is beauty?

A competition of appearance,

That all those without an inner balance lose,

All dependent on the beholder's eye?

What is beauty?

Ever-changing.

Ever-damaging.

So why should you even try?
